  1. Don't worry Doc, these things happen, I was attacked by dogs during one of my road bike rides, my vet told me not to worry, the cuts were superficial, I smashed to a tree during one of my MTB descends…

  2. a full-faced helmet was certainly a wise decision.. thinking I better upgrade to one. btw- does your's offer post-crash inspection/replacement recommendations? and thanks, in advance for the 1st aid kit contents vid

  3. Love how Tula is just looking at the wreckage like she's wondering whether to call in a Saint Bernard. Get well soon!

I'd add homeopathic Arnica tablets to any first aid kit along with the items you have. It was in pretty much every doctor's bag 100 or so years ago and is still frequently used for sports injuries or strain. Arnica can minimize bruising and helps with accident trauma. It's also great taken three days before dental surgery!

  4. Glad you are on the mend! I learned a bike riding lesson post 50 as well… to be more prepared, in my case making sure I have sufficient hydration with me and a charged cell phone!

  5. Wondering if you would cover injectable vitamin B and when and if it can be safely used. My friend told me to inject my badly injured dog with vit B for shock. I also tried it when my very pregnant chiweenie was in pain and not well. I could not get her to the vet and I do not know why she was ill but felt that vit B couldn't hurt. However, I read that it can be quite toxic, or even kill a debilitated animal.

  6. Wow, what bike accident, glad your injuries were not too bad. Hoping you mend soon. I healed stubborn wounds with high grade Manuka Honey, this stuff is amazing. I apply the honey to a clean wound add bandage. Couldn't believe how good Manuka Honey jump started the healing process. I don't know about using this honey for really deep wounds, but does work on wounds that are near the subcutaneous layer.

  7. Hope you ride and route and let somebody know where you going and for how long so they can look for you. Your not a spring chicken anymore so you better rethink what your doing. It sucks to realize when sometimes you find you can’t always do what you’ve been used to doing. That’s age for you. I was very active as a youngster horses motor cycles hitting a car with one. Now I have a hip replaced need a new knee and had my neck fused. Let me tell you it does slow things down. The more your injure yourself when young comes back with a vengeance later as a big surprise. Try not to get hurt. Just think I smashed myself up in my twenties now at 70 I’m paying for it.

  8. My nephew crashed into a tree on his fat tire bike. He walked 2 miles out of the woods hurting and with a badly cracked helmet. Low and behold, he had broken his neck! (I don’t remember which vertebrae) but he was disabled from driving for weeks and wore a hard neck collar for several weeks. He is all healed up now and has no lasting effects! Thanking God for that. This kid has more lives than a cat, that’s for sure.
