i’m about to go on a trip and my parents will not allow me to bring my dogs. i don’t know what to do but i’m not close enough with any of my neighbors to trust them enough.
Does it make a difference how long you leave your pet with a sitter for? For instance going for a 2 week or a 1 week holiday? Is a dogs sense of time the same as ours? We are going away for 14 nights in April, but with the flights and time difference we would need to leave our dog with our sitter for 17 nights total. Should we think about shortening our trip? We booked to go away before we rescued our dog. We have built up a relationship with our sitter, but haven't had an overnight stay yet, just full days.
Hi Dr Jones! It's a busy season upcoming – Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years. Lots of folks go on vacation this time of year. Good tips here to keep the pup feeling comfortable with his own belongings and own food. I ask owners to bring a piece of clothing "worn" by the owner so that their scent will be at my house. I also put an ID tag on them with my ph # and my address just in case they should get out, they can get back to me – safely.
I don't take a vacation, no one to take care of her. Definitely wouldn't put her in a kennel. She's 6 years old never been without me overnight. No vacation for me unless you have a suggestion. LOL. Blessing's❤
