  1. i still believe our grain free feeding lead to my cattle dog's congestive heart failure. he had been on it his whole life (mostly canidae but we had switched to 4health for a few years prior) because of our other dog's allergies (she had to be grain free and chicken free, which is hard to find!). i still feel so horrible that i could have caused this trying to make my other dog as comfortable as possible. it's been 3 years since his collapse at 10 years old, and only in the last 6 months has he starting to finally show signs of kidney failure from the years of lasix to pull the fluid out of his chest, but thankfully his heart mummer has only gone from a 4 to a 5 in these 3 years and he's never had another collapse. we were originally given 6-12months and we've well surpassed that and hope for at least another year.

  2. Hi doctor, I’m in the middle of trying to figure out about my 1 1/2 years old maltipoo, last year started him on allergie shots including apquel for his allergies and I’m over it , I just done giving him those meds , so I decided now to switch his food he was eating chicken 🐔 protein kibble. I have him on Acana’s whole grain just duck & pumpkin 🎃 that all that’s in it . I hope 🤞🏻 crossing fingers that this will solve his itching and scratching & sneezing. Also I’ve heard about acana grain free but I’m wondering if that brand with the whole grain will be ok 👍 would anyone know . I really don’t want to go on commercial dog food I think those r the worst , any advice what dog food is better? for small breed . I feel if I can heal my maltipoo from the inside to strengthen his immune system maybe if it’s environmental his body will be able to handle it and that’s my goal , but I theirs so much information out there i don’t know what true lol awww frustrating. lol 😂

  3. Hi Doc, I feed my Golden orijen and home prepared meals. I noticed peas of this brand is at the end portion of the ingredient's list. Am I doing the right thing as a dog parent?

  4. Thank you so much Dr. Jones, I appreciate you so much. My little MinPin, Pippy, died in my arms August 4th at 11PM. She was 13 year's old. She was diagnosed last April with a heart murmur and weak kidneys. She had collapsed the morning after an intense trauma situation in our home the night before. She spent three hours under our bed shaking and barking until we were able to have the person causing the trouble arrested and taken to jail. The Vet told us she could go at any time. He sent us home with a box of all kinds of special foods and treats so we could see which ones she liked best. I cooked for my dogs that evening, they are also on your supplements, and returned the box of dog foods the next day. Also removed the kibble we had been feeding only rarely. When my husband spoke to the Vet the next day about ordering a special memories memorial for her for our home, he admitted he was surprised at how long she had lasted. When I spoke to him and told him I had eliminated all kibble and was cooking their food, as well as, feeding some raw he was very interested about what I was feeding and asked if I would share the ingredients. I did. He's a young guy and I think he's going to be very open to exploring new feeding possibilities.
All this to say THANK YOU Dr. Jones for caring so much and doing all that you do. I thank God that I've been following you for a long time and have learned so much. Because of you, my little Pippy girl was given more precious time and I cherished every single moment. I loved her so much and miss her so much.🥺🐾💔💞

  5. I honestly gave up on my dogs health. The thing about Veterinary doctors is they take advantage of us and the love we have for our pets. i'm sure there are good people out there but based on my experience i got a very bad taste in my mouth from Benfield pet hospital.

  6. Could you pretty please make a video on how to do an affordable raw diet $100 a month or a little higher. Maybe an alternative diet that is 50/50 kibble and raw to be more affordable for those on a tighter budget. Would love to switch my dog over but I am overwhelmed by this task and worried I won’t be feeding my German Sheppard the nutrients he needs to supplement 100% raw or 50/50 diet.

  7. I’m looking for some advice on dealing with feline stress alopecia. I have a male, neutered purebred Bengal, he’s 1.1 years old. Our primary states this is what he has. He’s on calming chews at the moment and is/has been provided with everything to keep him stimulated and active. The environment is mostly quite, we have other cats as well and they’re all healthy and they all get along.

A few days ago Pharaoh “Bengal” he excessively started scratching himself again right under his jawline on his neck area.

Are there any home remedies that can help with stress alopecia?

  8. I know this is off topic but can a human give a animal the flu or a cold??? I have 3 rescue cats and 3 rescue dogs the thing is I have been sick for about 3 weeks myself , now my cats are sneezing like crazy!!! I hope I didnt get them sick!!! What can I do for them Dr????

  9. I feed my labrador even my toy cavoodle raw diet since they are only 10 weeks. Dogs need to eat fresh foods just like human. All the nutritions in processed foods are all gone. I buy the raw from a local reputable pet food company in NZ. They have already make the ratio for you (80% muscle, 10% bone, 5% organ and 5% secret) I also add 1 free range organic eggs with shell everyday, frozen pilchards every 2 days, bone broth and raw goat milk kefir and 50g lamb tripe everyday and a little vege and fruit puree everyday. Supplements I use are kelp and green lipped mussel power.

  10. we lost our blue rescue dane to dcm and heart failure DUE to grain free food. He was fine until we started to feed grain free. His cardiologist said he has seen a 200% increase in dcm DUE to grain free food. and he thinks it needs to be pullled from the market. we never had any other dane have ANY heart issues, we do rescue and have had aleast 30 dogs so far, and this was the only one who was ever fed grain free and he got it. it is NOT worth the risk feeding grain free. You are a blessing to us all. THANK YOU….

  11. My Mr Adorable and I have been fighting this fungal problem and I believe a very low PH for a year now… I have tried to get him to eat raw meat, but he would just spit it out; so I cooked it for him…. Three days ago; I believe his metabolism has finally righted itself; and he started devouring raw meat!!!! He eats the whole plate ( about 1 1/2 cups… his adequate daily intake) and doesn't leave a bite; and then spends a couple of minutes telling me how much his liked it! It's truly a miracle; and a great example of how natural healing works… Just keep trying; just keep plodding along, and the breakthrough will come! Already, I can see a huge change in his skin issues; he's not scratching hardly at all, and the inflammation has subsided greatly ( he's not hot to the touch).. and his disposition and stamina are more like the young 2-yr old that he is! Thank-you Dr Jones; Your info has and is helping so much in this fight, and we are winning!!! God Bless You always….

  12. I've been feeding my pup homemade food since she was 10 weeks now 24 months old… with peas r u kidding me Peas I don't believe at all seen this on Gma 3 with Dr. Aston 🤔 we walk all the time heart conditions I DON'T BELIEVE IT and she already has a snack of royal canin adult golden retriever dry dog food

  13. Great video thanks. I follow the recipe for home made food that you gave us. I.e. Chicken, organic peas, organic and sweet potato in the bone broth from the chicken. I purchase chicken thighs for $.79 per pound and cook up 4 lbs at a time in my Instant Pot. There's no long thin bone in it like the legs. I separate out the bones and freeze them to use next time in the bottom in the water so as to leach out as much from the bone as possible. If she's a bit loose, I add in rice otherwise I don't . I feed my 92 lb Shepherd this at night and after a hike in the morning. She has dried Eucanuba available 24/7 and can snack on it when she wants. She went from 112 lbs to 92 on this. The vet says to keep her at this weight and that she's just right weight-wise now. Also, she had a fatty lump the vet thought was benign just below her shoulder. I did the Fenbenzadole protocol with her 3 days on 4 off and the lump would get smaller on the 3 days on but resume its size after the 4 days, so I doubled the dose and gave it to her for 3 months. The lump got continuously smaller, very hard and then depressed inward. Now its gone. She also had huge black spots on her tongue from the time I got her at 2 years of age. They disappeared as well? I wasn't even considering them and one day when she was panting on a hike I noticed she had a totally pink tongue. I'm so grateful.

  14. I don’t believe that the 3 “P” are causing heart disease or any other negative symptoms when eating Grain Free foods. Who wrote and funded the study. It is known now that the giant dog food companies are paying off the reputable research companies so the people would think it is more believable. Clean no grain foods are causing heart problems but dog food made with road kill animals and euthanized animals and all kinds GARBAGE in their foods Only just Kill them when eating their GARBAGE! No one doesn’t think that their garbage dog food caused other health issues before they died? I don’t do peas when I feed my dog and I don’t buy dog food with peas in it either, unless it’s very low on the ingredient list. My bought food lately has come from The HonestKitchen and Dr Karen Becker’s dog food. Mostly, he eats a variety of raw meats, fruits and vegetables that I purchase and it clean and/or organic foods! So I find this study unbelievable.

  15. Tula is so sweet! On a different subject – I'd like to know why so many dogs suffer from cruciated ligaments. There is a clinic in the UK that operates 24 hours a day performing this surgery and each leg cost me over 4500 GBP (7800.00 CAD).My son has a Rottweiler and both of his legs were operated on as well.
My small labradoodle is real fussy and I've been feeding him your recent recipe (thank you) and he loves it. I'd like to know how I can add to his diet to build his muscle mass (with the excercise) after his surgery.

  16. I noticed you haven't made a video about plant-based dog foods! My dog is allergic to meat (probably caused by his horrible kibble in his early years) and has been on a PB kibble for 6 years. I want to start making his dog food myself, but unsure what protein I should be giving as an alternative to meat proteins. I think a video about plant-based diets for dogs might be an interesting perspective. I know I'd be interested to hear your opinion 🙂

  17. The Moral to the Story is:
They are messing with Our food and the dog food.
Everyone say something different about dogs food.
You don't know what to feed them.
    Thanks for Sharing.

  18. Very happy to be watching all your videos Dr. Jones. A video here about the incredible contamination of lots of food and air done by master scientist Stephanie Seneff: . . . . Glyphosate – A Global Health Threat, with Stephanie Seneff | The Empowering Neurologist EP. 127

  19. Hi Dr, thank you for your valuable opinion on this matter. This study links food to DCM, but I wonder if there is a correlation between drugs and vaccines too.
On another note, would you consider making a video about SARDs, please? Specifically what triggers this disease, what health conditions it causes and/or it is correlated to, and if pet owners can do anything about it. Thank you.
Ps: I love the brand you are feeding Tula with!

  20. One of the bad things under-cooked legumes have is a trypsin inhibitor. There are some bird foods that have raw beans in them. Thing is, most pet birds NEVER see a vet and if they do, the vet usually doesn't know what h/she is doing. Heart damage would show up at necropsy…you don't really think dead birds get necropsied do you? So the bird food mfg gets away with it. The other thing may be that there's something in wheat and corn that some dogs need.

  21. I recently found green plastic bits baked into my dogs kibble. So I contacted the company to let them know, and they thanked me… but I figured it would be a one time thing, like a mistake at the factory. But then a month later I bought another bag and found more plastic in the kibble. Now I'm wondering, like, shouldnt that company be recalling its product? I feel like more people should be aware of this, and I dont know if it's safe to keep buying this particular brand. Ugh. I dont know what to do, and I certainly dont want to "defame" or speak poorly of the company.

Sorry everyone, guess I'm just venting to a bunch of strangers, lol
