Hi doctor, what do i do about my dog chewing on the leash when ever i put it on. I'm supposed to keep it on her to have control but she thinks it's toy and starts biting it
Dogs do NEED to bark to keep their vagus nerve stimulated, which keeps their whole body in adjustment. We humans forget that Nature is very good at keeping us healthy if we just follow the rules. A good, "Thank You", helps my dogs to understand when it's okay to bark, and a gentle hug, and "no bark", when it's not. Dogs are smart.
My dogs (4) bark (especially the Australian Shepherd mix and the Beagle) at the squirrels, mailman/deliveries, dogs being walked by our house (unfortunately I live on a corner house but even so, they can smell dogs & the mailman a block away). I almost had to move because my neighbor kept calling animal control because the dogs were barking after I would leave for work. So what do you do when you can’t be home to tell them to be quiet? I tried various bark collars, doesn’t work, and I don’t like using them. Even the collars that just vibrate, the collar would go off on an innocent dog when another dog would bark. 🤔
A few weeks… I have been working on my Athena for SIX YEARS, and she KNOWS "speak', "enough" and "no bark"… She STILL barks at stuff that she knows is "okay"! (Next door neighbour working in their garden, for example.) Some dogs/breeds I really don't think there is a solution for. We have Kuvasz, a LGD: we've managed to get them calm when engaging with one neighbour in conversation across "the fence", but stopping barking on command, even with the "speak" and "ENOUGH!" commands just does not work for our pack.
We have a rescued Anatolian, a Livestock Guardian Breed. One thing that helps is when we acknowledge him doing his LGD job with a "Thank you." However, we think his first owner was a Marine or something because there have been times the only "quiet" command he'd respond to was "Stand Down!!" Lol
It's the hardest so far that I have taught my dog, speak, but I did it. Now, I know I need to teach her when to not bark, too. I don't understand people that never want their dogs to bark since that is how they talk but I do understand there are times we want them to be quiet 😁🐶💖 Some of the pet owners that don't want their dogs to ever talk (bark), I wonder if those same pet owners talk too much? LOL
How to stop the barking at my son and my husband… both the dogs bark at every sound I'm going nuts!!
Great . Love it. From Texas
Just hit em and they stop thank me later
Such a good, good, beautiful girl.
You kinda look like Ryan Reynolds
How to teach my dog to bark … He off leash all the time and walks himself
I wish the dog I was training was already trained too…
Okay, great, thank you. Any tips on getting our neighbours dog to stop? XD

What do you do if you have three little dogs

I'm dying! I've watched this 3 times, each time my little SBarky barks when Tula barks!
GOOD BOY Dr JONES! Excellent advice!
enjoyed the video! Glad my dog does not do this. TY Dr. Jones!

My sheltie wants to obey; but, she just can't 😁
Good advice. Thank you dr Jones
I'll take this as a sign that I need to try again if not I call it quits lol

Awesome!❤thanks Dr!
Excellent advice, it truly works for most dogs. The leash part is important…
Always on leash when training, wish I knew that little step years ago… 🐕
I just tell mine I'm going to get the broom and they stop! 😃 3 weiners
