  1. Dr. Jones, my dog is happier due to the valuable tutorials that you put out. We are seniors on a super tight budget. Veterinary Secrets is a life saver to us and our dog. Thanks to your video on curing ear infections – our Zoey just got rid of hers. On her last vet visit we were told that she had a gum infection. The vet pulled out 5 teeth for $700. He call us back and said that upon checking she would need 6 more teeth extracted which brings it up to $1200. We okay it. When we went to pick up 4 yrs old Zoey. The vet said that he had to extract 21 teeth, so now we owe him $2000. We were in tears. Our Zoey turn her back to us the rest of the evening. Now she got 1 canine tooth (?) sticking out of the side of her mouth. We are definitely not going to take her back to that vet. Do you think that her tooth that is sticking out should be extracted? Thanks for everything!!!

  2. My 2 Bichon frise are very happy, except when they go to the vet , they start to shake with nerves and the biggest chicken there. They are happiest when they have the front door open and watch the people go by. But being Bichons they do not like to go out to toilet when its rainy so even as adults they still use puppy toilet pads. They watch me carefully and they can manipulate me to grant their every wish, and there is great separation anxiety if they are with out us, they even sleep in the bed. I know there body language and they know mine. They are such fantastic little souls.

  3. Thank you Dr Jones that is so true, your dog wakes up they are so happy we drag ourselves out of bed we face another day we think of the past and future, our fur babies think of walkies and play love and blessings to you family and Tula 💞💞💞💞💞💞💞🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕

  6. Dr Jones. I've seen you have a video on treating pancreatitis but is there a way in the future you can maybe do a video on a chronic pancreatitis diet specifically? My dog has various health issues including idiopathic pleural effusion which she has pleural ports for. But I've just been thru a $4200 bill at the hospital and was sent home with almost no info on a homemade diet other than "yeah turkey and rice and veggies ok" with no specifics and a script for a $300 a month diet including Hills/royal canin. I want her to go back on homemade food which one reason I stopped is the vet hospital warned me to a few years back when her pleural effusion started. Which BTW I always rotated her meat and veggies back then and fed that to all my dogs. I find it hard to believe a diet of byproducts and rendered food will cure her.

  7. My Bichon has just got up and is happy as can be, we've just had my son move in with his golden retriever and to see the pair of them blitzing and cuddling up on the sofa together brings a breath of fresh air. Btw you're still brilliant!!!

  8. My dog is a cross lab with a beagle. She is quiet right now because our family is in mourning. She definitely feels our grief. We lost our son' s fiance to covid, only 27yrs old. I was worried about her and the vet said she's fine. She seems depressed though, and he said she may be feeling the atmosphere in the household.

  9. Hi Andrew- I learned something today I think you can appreciate re: happy dogs. I have been studying Hebrew to read the original language of the Bible (Torah). I came across this while studying Psalms 23- did you know that the word "dog" in Hebrew is כלב- kal meaning "all" and leb meaning "heart"……kalleb or "all heart"……Now don't you just know that our ancient ancestors sitting around the fire knew something about dogs?

  10. had my ciao ciao for 13 years, he was always in a good mood, and I fed off of that beautiful energy of his, every morning I would wake up, and give him a big hug, and feel his wet cold nose on my arm, so, he was always happy because, that was just him, and it’s probably your dog as well, feeding off of your beautiful energy
dogs are all heart, and love, and even though he was stubborn at times, that’s what made me love him more, lol, he was freaking awesome, and very sensitive to energies🐾😂

  11. Love this…you cant be thinking and present at the same time . Sometimes i am thinking about something and then my dog brings me his ball and insists me to play , though i start playing half heartedly but after few moments am playing with my dog and a big smile spread over my face. Being present means being happy. Thanks doc for sharing .

  12. I've been describe as one of those guys that can pretty much do anything, fairly sharp, been put in positions that prove it, and thrived. Ofcourse it's the internet so take it for what it is worth. I've found planning out jobs, got to contact landowners, municipalities, utilities, suppliers, subcontractors, employees, rental companies, customers…..yada yada (probably 30 or so more) Laying this out in my mind and notes, scheduling what has to happen over the next week or months, is the single most miserable part of my existence. Well, if the ole' lady is in a good mood, if she's not the aforementioned falls to second. 😀 There is anywhere from a few hours of this to a week or so sometimes. Once that budgeting/planning starts fading out into making the calls, dealing with people, even when they aren't nice, putting hands on the project, even on days when things go really wrong, it's awesome. I hadn't ever really thought about it that way, but yeh being able to just be there rather than looking miles away or ahead, life sure feels better. I got to go give my little buddy a puperoni now for having his shit together. 🙂
